Microsoft’s New Vista Operating System – Microsoft expects to release its new Vista 64 bit operating system in early 2007. The new Paper Tiger version 4.0 has been completely rewritten to take full advantage of and work seamlessly with the new Microsoft operating system. The new Vista operating system promises to bring to the market a more powerful, stable and robust computing experience – you will be ready with Paper Tiger 4.0.
Greater Control of Network Users – now with version 4.0 the administrator will have the option to enable/disable the change password button for all or certain user accounts. Users will have greater control over what information they see displayed such as actionable items. Much more robust network functionality and stability via new SQL Server database engine and enhanced state-of-the-art grid.
Finding Information Is Much Easier – it has been said that Paper Tiger is not a ‘filing system’ rather it is a ‘finding system’. As such, the new version 4.0 is much better and faster at finding your information. The notes field is now searchable. In addition, the new version has been slightly redesigned to remove steps that will make finding your information faster. Each of these improvements is based on user feedback and makes day-to-day operation of the product much better.
More streamlined interface – as Paper Tiger databases have become larger, customers have asked for easier more streamlined ways to see and navigate among the locations. These new features have been added. In addition, users can now eliminate columns of information that they either don’t use or don’t want to see everyday. The system will remember these changes.
Location Memory – as you change locations in the new version 4.0, the system will remember the exact item that you were on and when you return to the original location this item will be in view (focus). No more scrolling down to find your place. This is a big time saver when ‘playing catch-up’ with your filing and having to enter a lot of information at one time in multiple locations.
Look & Feel – the user interface has been modernized with easier navigation, quicker find functionality, new colors and all new icons (similar to Microsoft’s new Vista operating system look & feel). The interface is even easier-to-learn but with powerful new features and enhancements.
Categories – now users can change the category for multiple items at one time with ease. In addition, the user can add categories quicker with the same save/new function available in other parts of the software.
Interface with Google, others – the future of information management centers around having one interface to find your paper files, your electronic information on your local computer (including any scanned images) and with the same step be able to find information on the subject on the Internet. As new versions of the Google Desktop and other such tools are released, version 4.0 of The Paper Tiger is setup to take full advantage of these developments.
Import/Export – you now have greater control of exactly which fields of information that you would like to import or export in the new Paper Tiger 4.0.
